abstract There is provided the reagent layer composition thatncan substantially reduce the measurement bias arising fromnhematocrits. The addition of fatty acid (4-20 carbons) andnquaternary ammonium salt to a commonly used reagent layerncomposition composed of an enzyme, an electron transfernmediator, and several water soluble polymers not only reducenthe hematocrit level-dependent bias but also provide verynstable performance for an extended period of time. Disclosednare also various types of sub microliter sample volumenelectrochemical biosensors that are suitable to use with thenreagent layer composition of present invention.
