abstract |
The invention consists of fermenting selected strainsnof Blakeslea trispora in conditions such that β-carotenenis produced in the form of stabilizednpreparations with residual contents of otherncarotenoids (γ-carotene and β-zeacarotene). Thenfermentation conditions chosen include the programmednaddition of oxygen and/or β-ionone during fermentation,nand control of the age of the vegetative growth phasesnof the strains employed. The β-carotene obtained can benused in the pharmaceutical and food sectors. |
