abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of s-caprolactamnstarting from 6-aminocapronitrile by converting 6-aminocapronitrileninto an oligomer mixture and ammonia (hydrolysis/oligomerisation) and treatingnthe oligomer mixture with superheated steam (de-oligomerisation), wherein thenhydrolysis/oligomerisation is performed with superheated steam at a pressure ofnbetween 0.1 and 2 MPa and a temperature of between 150 and 300° C, ammonianis continuously separated off and the de-oligomersation is performed at anpressure of between 0.1 and 2 MPa and a temperature of between 250 andn400 °C. |
