Selectively reflective shaped articles |
abstract |
A shaped article is obtained by polymerizing anselectively reflective solution comprising a cellulosenderivative and a polymerizable solvent. The cellulosenderivative is a cellulose derivative having an alkyl degree ofnsubstitution of about 2.2 to 3, an acyl degree of substitutionnof about 0 to 0.8, and a total degree of alkyl and acylnsubstitution of about 2.8 to 3 [e.g., a highly substituted alkylncellulose (ethy cellulose) or an acylated alkyl cellullose].nMoreover, the polymerizable solvent may be a (meth)acrylicnmonomer (e.g., (meth)acrylic acid)]. According to the presentninvention, there is provided a shaped article having selectivenreflectivity with respect to wavelength and circularlynpolarized light. |
