abstract |
The present invention is a barrier coating and a method for depositing an inorganicncoating on a pre-processed substrate at high power levels. The process of the presentninvention is useful for providing an effective barrier against gas and/or water permeability ofnsubstrates, especially for plastic blood devices. The pre-processed substrate comprises anbuffer layer to mechanically isolate the substrate so that the substrate can be subjected tonpower levels or temperature levels that would typically lead to deformation of the substrate. |
