titleOfInvention Aqueous ink composition for use in an ink-jet printer
abstract It is the object of the present invention to provide a pigmentndispersed aqueous ink composition for ink jet printers, which givesnreliable printing performance and yields printed images which havenexcellent print quality. The ink compositions are suitable for printingnon plain paper. The ink comprises water as the principal solvent, anpigment, and a pigment dispersant. The pigment dispersant is anderivative of a polyuronic acid in which a hydrophobic polymer isncovalently attached to the reducing terminus of the polyuronic acid.nThe polyuroric acid is composed primarily of 1,4-linkednpolygalacturonic acid, polyguluronic acid, polyiduronic acid, or mixednpolymers thereof.
