An ink jet recording material having an excellentnink absorbing property and capable of recording inknimages with superior gloss, water resistance and lightnresistance has an outermost ink receiving layer formed onna support and containing (1) fine pigment particlesnselected from amorphous silica secondary particles andnalumina silicate secondary particles which have annaverage secondary particle size of 10 to 300 nm and inneach of which a plurality of primary particles having annaverage primary particle size of 3 to 40 nm arenagglomerated with each other, (2) an ultraviolet raynabsorber and, optionally, (3) an antioxidant. |
