An improved process is described for the synthesis ofnphenol by the catalytic oxidation of benzene withnhydrogen peroxide in the presence of titanium silicalite,nwherein the improvement consists in the fact thatnthe hydrogen peroxide is produced in situ by thenreaction of oxygen, carbon monoxide and water in thenpresence of catalytic complexes of palladium with annitrogenated ligand and a non-coordinating counter-ion.nThe process allows the production of phenol with a goodnyield and selectivity. |
