abstract |
A method and apparatus for immunoassays utilizes an improvedncollection technique of fluorescence induced emissions at thensolid phase/liquid phase interface from surface plasmon resonancensensing devices.nThe method of lightncollection for the induced emission of surface plasmon resonancenbased sensing devices involvesn (a) irradiating the film of the stratified optical system fromnthe substrate side with light that has a wavelength,npolarization and angle of incidence appropriate for excitingnsurface plasmon resonance fluorescence; (b) incubating the sample containing fluorescently labelednmolecules with said solid phase substrate film; and (c) employing 360° azimuthal collection of the fluorescenceninduced emission cone, and monitoring and analyzing the ratenor amount by which the detected induced emission intensitynchanges as binding between the fluorescent or fluorescentlynlabeled molecules and the film progresses. |
