A nutritional composition comprising fats and optionally carbohydrates,nproteins and other food constituents, in which the fatty acidsnof the fats consist of:n 55-95 wt.% of the medium chain fatty acids caprylic acid andncapric acid, 5-25 wt.% of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids stearidonic acid,neicosatetraenoic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid, docosapentaenoic acidnand/or docosahexaenoic acid, 0-30 wt.% of other fatty acids, nis suitable for treating increased plasma lipid levels in the metabolicnsyndrome (syndrome X), hyperlipoproteinaemia, especially hypertriglyceridaemianor hyperchylomicronaemia. |
