An α -olefin polymerization catalyst comprising (A) a solid catalyst component containing a tri-valent titanium compound obtained by treating a solid product obtained by reducing Ti(OR 1 ) a X 4-a ( R 1 represents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, X represents a halogen atom and a represents a number satisfying 0<a≦ 4.) with an organomagnesium compound in the presence of an organosilicon compound having an Si-O bond, porous polymer beads having a micropore radius of 100 to 5000 Å and a micropore volume of 0.1cc/g or more and an ester compound, with an ester compound, and treating the ester-treated solid with a mixture of an ether compound and titanium tetrachloride or a mixture of an ether compound, titanium tetrachloride and an ester compound, (B) an organoaluminum compound and (C) an electron donative compound, and a process for producing an α -olefin polymer with said α -olefin polymerization catalyst. |
