titleOfInvention | LIQUIDATION OF THE GROUND SET FROM GRANULAR STARCH BY MEANS OF ALPHA-AMYLOSE IN THE PRESENCE OF THE CARBONATE ION. |
abstract | Starch slurry liquefied with alpha-amylase to produce fructose according to a process in which an amount of carbonate ion is greater than the amount necessary to bring the pH to a value between approximately 5.0 and 6.0 is added to the sludge, and the pH thereof is brought to a value between about 5.0 and 6.0. Preferably, the excess amount is between approximately 2 mM and 20 mM. This process provides a reliable and complete liquefaction. |
