titleOfInvention | Liquid crystal composition, liquid crystal device, display apparatus and display method using same |
abstract | A liquid crystal composition containing at least one compound represented by the following formulas (I) to (IV):n wherein R denotes hydrogen, or a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 - 18 carbon atoms capable of having a substituent; and X denotes -0-,n n wherein R 1 denotes a linear or branched alkyl or alkoxy group having 1 - 18 carbon atoms capable of having a substituent; and X 1 denotesn or -CH 2 O-:n wherein R 2 denotes hydrogen, or a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 - 18 carbon atoms capable of having a substituent; X 2 denotes a single bond, -0-,n Y 1 , Y 2 , Y 3 and Y 4 respectively denote hydrogen, fluorine or -CF 3 with proviso that at least one of Yi, Y 2 , Y 3 and Y 4 is fluorine or -CF 3 ; and n is 0 or 1; andn wherein R 3 denotes a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 - 18 carbon atoms capable of having a substituent; -A- denotesn X 3 denotes -0-,n or a single bond, X 4 denotes -0-,n or -CH 2 0-; and m is 0 or 1. The compounds of the formulas (I) to (IV) provide a liquid crystal composition having a stably lowered resistivity, thus quickly attenuating a reverse voltage caused by localization of charges in the liquid crystal composition. |
