abstract There are the new 14α, 17α-bridged estratrienes of the general formula I n n n n describedn n n n wherein, if OR³ is α-constant R¹, R² and R³ independently represent a hydrogen atom, an acyl atoms of matter or the remainder is - (CH₂) n COOH with n = 1 - 4 a carboxylic acid, and also R¹ is a benzyl, C₁-C₈-alkyl or C₃-C₅-cycloalkyl radical, and if OR³ is β-permanent R¹, R² and R³ independently of one another represent a hydrogen atom, an acyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms and R¹ additionally represent a C₁-C₈-alkyl radical and in both cases AB an etheno or ethano bridge mean, and a process for their manufacture. The new compounds are very strong estrogens and are suitable for the production of drugs.
