Production of 2-methyl-5-isopropylhexa-2,5-dien-1-al and of 2-methyl-5-isopropyl-hexa-2,4-dien-1-al in microorganisms |
abstract |
Microorganisms are employed in the production of 2-methyl-5-isopropyl-hexa-2,5-dien-1-al or 2-methyl-5-isopropyl-hexa-2,4-dien-1-al from α-pinene or its epoxide. n The aldehyde products some of which are novel are of utility in perfume formulations for example in detergent powders and soaps. Microorganisms belonging to the species Pseudomonas fluorescens , and in particular Pseudomonas fluorescens NCIMB 11671 are preferred for effecting the transformations. |
