abstract The flame-retardant insulating mixture for sheathing electrical cables and wires consists of 40 to 100 parts by weight of a copolymer of ethylene with acrylic acid and / or acrylic acid ester, with an ethylene content of 70 to 95%, and 100 to 170 parts by weight of aluminum hydroxide. Butyl acrylate is preferably used as the acrylic acid ester. The mixtures mentioned do not have to be crosslinked and have particularly low tear propagation resistance values, so that they are particularly suitable for connection processes in which automatic stripping takes place.
