abstract New 14-azido-15-hydroxy-milbemycin derivatives and 15-hydroxy-Δ <13.14> -milbemycin derivatives can be obtained with the complex reagent [HN3] m / [Al (ethyl) 3] n, where m under n independently represent the number 1 or 2 or a numerical value between 1 and 2, from the corresponding 14,15-epoxy-milbemycin derivatives in the anhydrous phase and at -30 ° C to + 10 ° C. They serve as active ingredients for controlling arthropod species, such as insect pests or animal ectoparasites or endoparasites, and are used in the form of agents. The compounds also serve as intermediates for the further derivatization of milbemycin derivatives.
