abstract |
2-heterocyclyl-lower alkyl-2-penem compounds of the formula wherein R 1 is lower alkyl substituted by hydroxy or protected hydroxy, R 2 is carboxyl or functionally modified carboxyl, R 3 is an unsaturated monocyclic azaheterocyclyl radical which is bonded to the radical A via a tertiary ring nitrogen atom and A is straight-chain lower alkylene which is substituted by lower alkyl Optical isomers of compounds of the formula (I), mixtures of these optical isomers and salts of those compounds of the formula (I) which have a salt-forming group have antibiotic properties. The new compounds can be used, for example, in the form of antibiotic preparations for the treatment of infectious diseases. The new compounds can be prepared in a manner known per se. |
