abstract | In the process, a suspension of cellulose-containing starting material in an aqueous medium is inoculated with the microorganisms, the culture is developed submerged in fermenters, and the solids are separated from the cellulase-containing solution.n n n In order to be able to carry out the process continuously, safely and without inhibiting production by complex preparatory work on the fermenters, the inoculated culture is developed in stages in a plurality of main fermenters connected in series, the suspension being carried out continuously in all main fermenters, with a constant fill level in all main fermenters and the cellulase concentration increases and the cellulose concentration decreases from stage to stage.n n n The following are arranged one after the other in the system: an impact container (2) equipped with an agitator, at least one sterilizing container (10) equipped with an agitator, upstream of which a mixer (7) with a supply (8) for sterilizing agent, a pre-fermentation device (11, 12, 13). a main fermentation device, which has a plurality of fermenters (14), and further devices for separating the solids from the cellulase-containing solution, which advantageously comprise clarifiers (16) and centrifuge (17), optionally an ultrafiltration system (29) for concentrating the cellulase-containing solution and a container (32) for the precipitation of the cellulase. |
