abstract Thiazolo(3,2-a)pyrimidine derivatives represented by the following general formula (I):n wherein R represents a phenyl group or a benzyl group containing a substituent of a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group or lower alkoxy group, an alicyclic group, or an arylethyl group, and a process for preparing the compounds represented by the general formula (I) which comprises subjecting the compound, represented by the following general formula (II):n wherein R is the same as defined above, and R' represents a halogen atom or a lower alkyloxy group, to a cyclization reaction under heating. Drugs containing the compounds as effective ingredients are useful for treating autoimmune diseases such as rheumatic arthritis, nephritis, etc.
