abstract Gypsum in flue gas desulphurization plants that are operated on a lime basis is mixed with dehydrated natural gypsum after its partial and / or complete dehydration. The flue gas desulfurization gypsum can also be mixed with the natural gypsum in the form of dihydrate, the dehydration of natural gypsum and flue gas desulfurization gypsum then being able to take place in a common system. Strength values of the mixed product are thereby achieved, which are significantly higher than the values of the two starting products, although the hemihydrate from flue gas desulfurization gypsum has, on its own, much poorer strength properties than natural gypsum.
