abstract The aim of the present invention is to provide a specific process that would make it possible to produce stable production of aromatic carbonates containing diaryl carbonate as the main product from a dialkyl carbonate and an aromatic monohydroxy compound over a long period of time, on an industrial scale, corresponding to not less than 1 ton / h, when using two multi-stage distillation columns of continuous operation. Despite the fact that various proposals have been made regarding methods for producing aromatic carbonates using the reactive distillation method, they all belonged to the small scale and to the laboratory level with a short run time, and at least some descriptions of a specific method or apparatus that make possible mass production in industrial scale were absent.
