The invention describes new reaction schemes, new process steps and new intermediates for the synthesis of epoxymexrenone and other compounds of the formula in which -A-A- is a group -CHR-CHR- or -CR = CR-, R, R and R are independently selected from a group including hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl, C-C alkyl, C-C alkoxy group, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxycarbonyl, cyano group, aryloxy group, R denotes an alpha-oriented C-C alkoxycarbonyl or hydroxycarbonyl radical, -B-B-denotes a R- -CHR group or an alpha- or beta-oriented group, where R and R are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, C -C alkoxy, acyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxycarbonyl, alkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, acyloxyalkyl, cyano, R aryloxy, independently of each other from the group consisting of hydrogen, hydroxy, halogen, C -C alkoxy, acyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxycarbonylalkyl, alkoxycarbonylalkyl, acyloxyalkyl, cyano a group, an aryloxy group, or R and R together form a carbocyclic or heterocyclic structure, or R and R together with R or R form a carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring fused to a five-membered ring D, although, where not specifically indicated, the alkyl or alkyl portion of the substituent may contain a number of carbon atoms from 1 to 6. |
