The present invention lies in the field of genetic engineering in plants. The invention relates to a process for the preparation of genetically transformed plant objects by introducing a transforming factor into the recipient object followed by selection of cell lines and plants from this recipient object, these cell lines and plants having novel, inherited characteristics, and the transforming factor being a DNA molecule or an autonomically replicating cell organelle and the recipient object used being a single cell or a cell in a group of cells, and the transforming factor being introduced into the recipient object by means of microinjection. The process according to the invention allows novel, agriculturally utilisable plants which have desired characteristics to be produced by means of genetic engineering. |
