Derivs of formula (I): (where R1 is H or (un)saturated, opt. cyclic lower alkyl, R2 is (a) -NR3COR4 in which R3 is H, phenyl or opt. cyclic lower alkyl and R4 is H, phenyl or opt. subst. (un)saturated, opt. cyclic lower alkyl, R3 and R4 opt. being linked with each other when R3 is lower alkyl, (b) a residue in which the carbonyl residues are linked with each other via a phenyl or lower alkyl residue, (c) -NR3-COOR5 in which R5 is lower alkyl, phenyl or lower phenylakyl, (d) -NR3-CONR6R7 in which R6 and R7 are H, phenyl or (un)saturated lower alkyl, opt. linked with each other either directly or through a hetero atom, or (e) -CONR6R7 in which R6 and R7 are as defined above or are lower phenylalkyl or phenoxyalkyl, and rings A and B and phenyl residues falling within the scope of R2 may carry >=1 substituents e.g. NO2, CF3, SCH3, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, (m)ethylenedioxy) and their acid addition salts are anticonvulsants, sedatives, muscle relaxants and tranquilizers. |
