titleOfInvention Process for color recipe calculation of pigmented effect color shades
abstract The invention relates to a method for calculating the dye formulations of pigmented effect dyeing tones, wherein i) a calibration table is drawn up for each pigment forming part of a colorant system and the pertaining reflection factors are determined experimentally; ii) the optical material parameters are determined from the measured reflection factors for each pigment forming part of a colorant system using a radiation transport model to describe the diffusion of light in particular media; iii) pseudo-pigment are formed from all of the wafer-like effect pigments forming part of a colorant system and from a fixed amount of one or several coloristically inert and topologically influenceable filling materials enabling the optical material parameters to be determined by means of said calibration table; iv) the reflection spectra of a post-adjustable effect dyeing tone is computationally simulated upon availability of formulation components or pigments and/or pertaining pseudo-pigments forming part of a colorant system on the basis of the material parameters using an appropriate radiation transport model to describe the diffusion of light, in particular media, wherein the appropriate amount of pigment, pseudo-pigment and topologically influenceable filling material is obtained.
