The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a polyacrylonitrile-sulfur composite material in which in a process step a) polyacrylonitrile 1 is reacted to cyclized polyacrylonitrile 2 and in a process step, the cyclized polyacrylonitrile 2 is reacted with sulfur to a polyacrylonitrile-sulfur composite material 3 , By separating the production process into two partial reactions, the reaction conditions can advantageously be optimized for the particular reaction and a cathode material for alkali-sulfur cells with improved electrochemical properties can be provided. Moreover, the present invention relates to a polyacrylonitrile-sulfur composite material, a cathode material, an alkali-sulfur cell or battery and an energy storage. |
