titleOfInvention Method for the detection of partially fluorinated surfactants
abstract In a method for the preferably quantitative detection of partially fluorinated surfactants, which are contained in particular in wastewaters, sewage sludge and the like, the partially fluorinated surfactant is first brought together in solution or suspension with at least one chromophore or at least one at least one chromophore compound and the interaction product thus obtained between partially fluorinated surfactant and chromophore determined photometrically. The partially fluorinated surfactant is preferably the perfluorinated alkyl sulfonate H4 perfluorooctane sulfonate (H4-PFOS). Preferably, the interaction product between perfluorinated surfactant and chromophore for the photometric determination is converted into an organic phase.
