titleOfInvention | Determination of vitamin D directly in serum or plasma |
abstract | The invention relates to a method and a sample buffer for a direct measuring assay for the determination of vitamin D compounds such as 25-hydroxy-vitamin D¶2¶, 25-hydroxy-vitamin D¶3¶, 1alpha, 25-dihydroxy-vitamin -D¶2¶, 1alpha, 25-dihydroxy-vitamin-D¶3¶ in plasma or serum. The assay is based on a protein binding analysis of antibodies - instead of vitamin D binding protein - against the vitamin D compound to be determined and the sample and analysis buffer contains at least slightly acidic pH at least 0.05% by weight of a soluble hydroxylated aromatic Carboxylic acid or a salt thereof, preferably 1 to 7% by weight sodium or potassium salicylate at a pH between 0.3 and 7.0 and optionally cyclodextrin. |
