abstract |
The invention prepares a powder preparation for nasal administration, which contains granular steroid hormones with an average particle diameter of 50-300 μm as active ingredients. The powder formulation for nasal administration may further contain a water-soluble polymer (especially, a water-soluble polysaccharide such as cellulose having a hydroxyalkyl group). The particulate steroid hormones may comprise or be formed from testosterone and/or derivatives thereof. The water-soluble polymer may be in granular form. The ratio of the water-soluble polymer may be about 1 to 50 parts by weight relative to 1 part by weight of the particulate steroid hormones. The powder nasal administration preparation may be a powder nasal administration preparation in which the Cmax of steroid hormones is adjusted to 15 ng/ml or less. Provided is a powder preparation for nasal administration, which can control the blood concentration of steroid hormones such as testosterone within a specific range for a long time. |
