abstract | A cobblestone-like region (CA) formation inhibition activity of human leukemia stem cell-like cells is used as an index, a component with the activity is extracted from a fat-soluble component of a sponge animal (Porifera), a compound with the activity is further separated and purified from the component, and a stelliferin compound containing the novel compound is identified by determining the structure of the stellerin compound. Further, the separated and purified stelliferin compound obviously inhibits the formation of microenvironment of leukemia stem cell-like cells from human Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) which have tolerance to the existing antitumor agents, and enhances the effect of the antitumor agents on the cells. The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition having inhibitory or inhibitory activity against the formation of the microenvironment of leukemia stem cells, and a malignant tumor recurrence inhibitor used in combination with other antitumor agents. |
