abstract (a) Indole derivs. of general formula (I): R = H, Cl or Br; R1 = 3-pyridyl or 4-pyridyl. (b) Acid addition salts of (I) with organic and inorganic acids. The new compounds inhibit the biosynthesis of aldosterone e.g. they inhibit the conversion of 11-desoxycorticosterone into aldosterone. They may be used in the treatment of hyper-aldosteronism and similar diseases as well as diuretics. They have also an influence on the blood circulation.
