abstract | (A) Alkanolamine derivatives (I). - where either - (a) R1 = alkyl group, opt. substd. by one or more hydroxy and/or aryl, and in which the aryl may be substd. by one or more halogen, alkyl and/or alkoxy, also R1 = cycloalkyl or alkenyl, R2 = hydrogen, hydroxyalkyl, aryloxyalkyl, haloalkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocyclyl, acylaminophenyl, ethyl-, vinyl-, p-tolyl- or m-nitrophenyl. - R3 = hydrogen or alkyl, R4 = hydrogen or acyl - or - (b) R1 = methyl or cyclopropyl, R2 = hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl, or alkoxy, R3 = hydrogen or alkyl and R4 = hydrogen or acyl. - or - (c) R1 = isopropyl, R2 = methyl, R4 = hydrogen or acyl and if :- - R3 is hydrogen, then R2CONH- is in position 2 with respect to the alkanolamine side-chain. - R3 is a methyl group in position 5, then R2CONH-is in position 3, R3 is a methyl group in position 3, then R2CONH-is in position 4, R3 is a n-butyl group in position 2, then R2CONH-is in position 5, all positions with regard to the alkanolamine side chain. - or - (d) R1 = isopropyl, R2 = methyl, R3 = hydrogen, and R4 = acetyl. - (B) Acid addition salts of (I). - beta-Adrenergic blocking agents. 1(5-acetamido-2-n-butylphenoxy)-3-is opropylamino-2-propanolhemihy- drate was obtained, m.p. 131-132 deg.C. |
