Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a plastic container coated with a thin film with good gas barrier property, film coloration, and film adhesiveness, which suppresses the deposition of foreign matter such as carbon powder without using an external electrode with a special shape. A method for manufacturing a gas barrier thin film-coated plastic container comprises the steps of housing a plastic container in an external electrode serving as a film formation unit, disposing an internal electrode serving as a source gas supply pipe in the plastic container, evacuating gas in the external electrode by operating a vacuum pump, blowing source gas into the plastic container under reduced pressure, and setting the power supply frequency of a plasma generation power supply for supplying electric power to the external electrode at 5.5 MHz to 6.5 MHz, turning the source gas into plasma, and depositing a thin film with a gas barrier property on the inner wall surface of the plastic container. |
