titleOfInvention Processes for preparing coated printing papers using hardwood mechanical pulps
abstract A process for producing coated printing paper is provided which comprises: a step in which base paper is formed from a raw pulp material comprising a hardwood-derived mechanical pulp (LMP); and a step in which a coating fluid containing a pigment and an adhesive is applied with an on-machine coater to form a coating layer.  These steps are successively conducted on the machine.  Coated printing paper of excellent quality can be efficiently produced with high operation efficiency.
