abstract It is intended to provide an anti-adhesion membrane which is not toxic to the living body, has flexibility that enables it to fit an affected area as a hydrated gel, has a uniform crosslinking structure, maintains its shape in the living body for a certain period of time and is promptly absorbed in the living body thereafter. The invention is directed to an anti-adhesion material comprising a thermally crosslinked gelatin film, wherein a water content calculated using the following formula (1) is 60 to 85%. water content (%) = [(Ws-Wd)/Ws] x 100(%) (1) In the formula (1), Ws represents a weight (wet weight) of the anti-adhesion material when the material is immersed in phosphate buffered saline at 25°C for 1 hour, and Wd represents a weight (dry weight) of the anti-adhesion material when the material is completely dried with a vacuum drier.
