N-HYDROXY-N- [3- (2-SUBSTITUTED PHENYL) PROP-2-ENYL / CARBAMIDES AND THIOCARBAMIDS, N-hydroxy-N- (3- (2-substituted phenyl) prop-2-enyl) urea are described, and thioureas of a compound of formula I wherein X is O or S; Y is O or S; R 1 is hydrogen, C 1 -C 4 alkyl, or C 3 -C 8 cycloalkyl; R2 is hydrogen or methyl; R3 is C2-C12alkenyl, C3-C12alkadienyl, C4-C12alkatrienyl, C2-C12alkynyl, C4-C12alkenyl, C3-C8cycloalylmethyl, unsubstituted or substituted styryl, or unsubstituted or substituted phenylethynyl, where phenyl is substituted with phenyl or three same or different halo, hydroxy, C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy, C1-C4alkylthio or trifluoromethoxy; R4 is hydrogen or halo; n is 1 or 2; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts of these compounds. |
