NEW N-ARYL AND N-HETEROARYLIC CARBAMIDE DERIVATIVES AS ACYL COENZYME INHIBITORS: CHOLESTEROL Aryl TRANSFERASE (ACAT) - A compound of formula (I) a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein Q, R 17, R 18 and R 1 are as defined below. The compounds of formula I are inhibitors of acyl coenzyme A: cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT) and are useful as hypolipidemic and antiatherosclerotic agents. Q is oxygen or sulfur Rrt is - (CH2) „- (CR'V0 (CH2) 2-A2 where U is 0 or an integer from 1-3 2 is 0 or 1 ir is 0 or an integer from 1 to 4 R and R20 are independently selected from hydrogen, optionally halogenated (C1-C12) alkyl, optionally substituted aryl- (C1-C5) -alkyl, (C3-C8) cycloalkyl- (C1-C8) alkyl and aryl, R19 and R20 and carbon to which they are attached form a (C4-C7) cycloalkyl ring or a benzene-linked (C5-C7) cycloalkyl or heteroaryl ring, provided that both R and R20 cannot be hydrogen. |
