abstract A microwave moisture analyser apparatus (10) which employs microwave radiation and a method for the determination of loss on drying application. The analyzer (10) comprises an enclosure (20) which houses a microwave analysis chamber (260) wherein the chamber (260) includes an integral precision balance (240) and a microwave energy module (450). The module (450) controls the loss on drying process on the sample being assayed and determines when the drying process is complete.
