| abstract |
On a compactor wheel (10) having outer (13) and inner (21) cylindrical drums, the inner drum (21) being mounted on the vehicle axle (24), there is provided an axially extending shroud (31). The shroud (31) is equipped with a cover plate (36) which together serves to define a cavity enclosing the axle seals and bearings (25) preventing trash from intruding into those components of the compactor vehicle (11). |
