titleOfInvention Flexible trocar with an upturning tube system
abstract The invention relates to a trocar made of a flexible access tube for minimally invasive surgery in the large intestine. The flexible trocar is comprised of an outer sheathing (32) and of an inner sheathing (33). All supply or functional channels extend in the space located between said sheathings. The channels have Bowden cables (37) for adjusting the distal end (3) of the trocar, and have lines provided for optics (38), lighting (41), rinsing with liquid (40), clearing with air, CO2 (39) or the like, and for providing lubrication between the trocar and the upturning tube. The inner diameter of the inner tube (33) is designed such that it is large enough to guide at least one or more surgical instruments for minimally invasive surgeries through the same and to the site of the operation. The inner diameter is also large enough to accommodate a colonoscope having a thickness of approximately 13 mm. The trocar is inserted into the intestine by means of an upturning tube system (2). The drive of the upturning tube is provided by a number of frictional wheels (14), suction cups or crawlers which act upon an inner tube section in order to move the system in a continuous manner.
