abstract |
A lubricating oil composition which exhibits improved fuel economy and fuel economy retention, contains the combination of (a) a dithiocarbarmate of the formula R1(R2)N-C(:S)-S-(CH¿2?)n-S-(:S)C-N(R?2)R1¿ where R?1 and R2¿ independently represent alkyl groups having 1 to 20 carbon atoms and n is an integer from 1 to 4; and (b) an oil soluble trinuclear friction modifying molybdenum compound, the two components functioning to provide an improvement in the friction reducing properties of the composition. |
