Compatibilized composition of polyolefin and polyamide |
abstract |
A compatibilized polymer composition of polyolefin and polyamide, comprising a grafted copolymer consisting of a polyolefin homopolymer grafted with 3-isopropenyl-α,α-dimethyl-benzene isocyanate (TMI) and bonded to the grafted TMI groups poly(ε-caprolactam) chains. A method for the preparation of the compatibilized composition, comprising the following steps: (i) grafting a polyolefin homopolymer with an isocyanate compound, (ii) polymerising from the grafted isocyanate groups ε-caprolactam monomers in the presence of an activator and a catalyst into poly(ε-caprolactam) chains. |
