Method for producing short-chain alkyl oligoglucosides and/or alkenyl oligoglucosides |
abstract |
The invention relates to a method for producing short-chain alkyl oligoglucosides and/or alkenyl oligoglucosides in which glucoses are acetalated in the presence of acidic catalysts with an excess of saturated or unsaturated alcohols having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and water is continuously removed from the equilibrium. Water in the mixture containing alcohol is drawn out of the reaction chamber in a vaporous manner and is fed through a membrane module. A partial drop in pressure of the water which is to be separated from the feed side to the permeate side of the membrane is generated by applying a vacuum or by rinsing with a sweep-gas stream. In this manner, the water and the low quantities of alcohol are separated off as permeate, whereas the concentrated retentate is condensed outside the membrane module or returned to the reactor as vapor. |
