titleOfInvention | Method of making a shaped absorbent interlabial device |
abstract | The invention relates to a method of manufacturing an absorbent device for interlabial use by women, to protect against menstruation, incontinence or both. The method includes at least partially enclosing a continuous segment of absorbent material in a covering material. The covering material is placed so as to be on either side of the absorbent material segment. The absorbent material is then optionally formed so that, along its length, on either side of the longitudinal axis of the absorbent material, certain zones are alternately thicker than others. In one embodiment, this shape is given by bonding a first part of the covering material to a second part of the covering material on the opposite side of the absorbent material, so that this connection takes place through the absorbent material. Substantially transverse cuts are made along the length of the absorbent material, oriented alternately over the entire length of the absorbent material so as to provide the device with formed ends. This process makes it possible to produce several interlabial devices having an asymmetrical shape on a longitudinal axis and formed ends, with a minimum of falls. |
