Drinking water formulations having appropriate amounts of mineral constituents including calcium, chromium, copper, fluoride, iron, iodine, magnesium, nickel and selenium are effective in maintianing an individual's normal good health. Particular formulations are effective in preventing and minimizing disease states caused by various deficiencies in one or more of such mineral constituents. Methods for preparing drinking water formulations include distillation of water followed by addition of particular amounts of mineral constituents to achieve desired concentrations in accord with recommended daily allowances and yet below government regulations for levels of such elements. Other methods involve enriching existing water sources with particular amounts of mineral constituents to provide the drinking water formulation of the present invention. Still other formulations are generated for use by animals, especially companion animals, to promote good health. |
