titleOfInvention Nuclear fuel reprocessing
abstract There is described a nuclear fuel reprocessing method which is particularly concerned with the separation of uranium, plutonium and neptunium. The reprocessing method is adapted to reduce Pu to Pu(III) and Np to Np(IV) by first treating a mixture containing Pu and Np, and optionally U, with hydroxylamine and treating the hydroxylamine reduced mixture with U(IV). There is also described a Purex reprocessing plant adapted to use the new method.
