The invention provides a method of identifiying an effective agent that alters the association of a Bcl-2 polypeptide with an MACH Related Inducer of Toxicity (MRIT) polypeptide by contacting a Bcl-2 family polypeptide and an MRIT polypeptide with an agent under conditions that allow said Bcl-2 family polypeptide to associate with said MRIT polypeptide; and detecting an altered association of said Bcl-2 family polypeptide and said MRIT polypeptide. |
