The invention relates to quaternary carboxylic acid alkanolamine ester salts of general formula (I), in which R1CO represents an acyl radical with 2 to 18 C-atoms, R2, R3, independent of one another, represent an alkyl radical with 1 to 16 C-atoms or represent a radical of formula CH¿2?-CH2-O-R?5, R4¿ represents an alkyl radical with 1 to 4 C-atoms, R5 represents hydrogen and/or R1CO, and X- represents an anion. The inventive salts are used as microbicidal agents especially in washing and cleaning agents, disinfectants, preservatives, softeners, cosmetics, cooling lubricant emulsions and in coating materials. |
