abstract A technique including a method (300, 400) and apparatus (200) for repairing a color filter (1) for a flat panel display using a plurality of high intensity light source means (203, 203A, 203B, 206A, 206B). The technique provides a color filter having anomalies and uses steps of directing a plurality of high intensity lights through apertures at the anomalies to selectively ablate portions of the anomalies. These features remove the portions of the anomalies while preventing a possibility of substantial damage to other portions of the color filter surrounding the anomalies.
